Here at Just Poppin™, we’re big on office snacking, and in our opinion popcorn is one of the best snacks of all (hey, it’s not like we’re biased or anything!) However, there’s a whole world of healthy snacks out there for you to enjoy while you’re at your desk. If you’re bored with the same old mid-morning morning apple, check out these suggestions – they’re all practical, portable and less than 150 calories, so you can enjoy them without any guilt!

Dried apple chips
Replace your usual whole apple with a fun, tasty alternative that packs all of the flavor punch of fresh baked apple pie. Simply core and thinly slice an apple, sprinkle with cinnamon and dry in a 350F degree oven for around 30 minutes. This new twist on your normal snack still has all of the health benefits of your daily fruit, but presents it in a tasty new way.

Cucumber sticks with 2 tablespoons of hummus
Cucumber sticks will give you all of the great crunch factor of your favorite chip and dip snack, but without the excess unhealthy fat or salt. Try putting the hummus directly in the bottom of a screw-top container and storing the cucumber on top – there’s no chance of spillages and you’ll only have to pack one container.

If you really must have a sugar fix, don’t reach for a candy bar! Strawberries dipped in dark chocolate are quick and simple to make – simply melt the chocolate, dunk the fruit and leave to set on a baking sheet. You can have up to one cup of strawberries, and you’ll only need 1tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips to coat them all.

Come on, you knew we were going to have popcorn on the list somewhere, didn’t you?! What most people don’t realise is that there are less than 100 calories in 3 cups of air popped popcorn – simply mist lightly with a couple of short sprays of extra virgin olive oil, then sprinkle on salt or any other preferred (calorie free) seasoning for a filling savory snack that will keep you going ‘til lunch.
